My Labrador Salt does not like raw vegetables but when I chop these vegetables up and steam in chicken bone broth, she licks the glass right off of her bowl! This is part of her cancer prevention protocol.
Her BFF Bailie has cancer (oral melanoma) . Dense nutrition is key during cancer. This recipe is packed with anti-oxidants! He eats this 2x a day with his cooked lean proteins like chicken breast, ground turkey, salmon or bison burger. If you can find organic vegetables and fruits that is best but if not, just look for those that look the freshest and grown in the USA.
1 Cup finely Chopped Broccoli
1 Cup finely Chopped Brussel Sprouts
1 Cup finely Chopped Asparagus
1 Cup Blueberries
1 Cup Kettle & Fire Chicken Bone Broth
Steam for 5 minutes or until tender, and let cool. If your dog is new to vegetables, add a few tablespoons to their meal or just serve plain in their bowl and see how they do. This can be served as a topper or a snack.
Broccoli, Cauliflower & Brussel Sprouts- cooking activates an enzyme called myrosinase, which turns on the vegetables’ cancer fighting phytochemicals. They also help detoxify a dogs’ body.
Asparagus is high in Glutathione which packs a punch as an anti-oxidant that helps your dogs' liver detoxify. Asparagus contains saponins, which may help promote white blood cell activity and inhibit inflammatory molecules. It is rich in folate which helps to maintain healthy blood cells.
Blueberries are super Anthocyanin rich which makes them a super anti-oxidant and good for gut health. They also protect cells from damage and are very high in Vitamin C. (Smaller blueberries tend to have less sugar)
