IMPORTANT WAYS TO HELP YOUR DOG WITH CANCER

Every dogs' body has a natural inclination to heal and be healthy, given dense nutrition, clean filtered drinking water, immune support, fresh air and exercise, playtime and love, and a sense of purpose.

1) Dense Nutrition- Ween your dog off of processed kibble and feed fresh, whole foods (lean, organic proteins that are easy to digest/steamed green vegetables/good fats/organic pumpkin puree/blueberries) Better nutrition equals a better functioning immune system. If you need help in this area, I offer affordable nutrition consultations.

2) Medicinal Mushroom Complex- Beta-Glucans and triterpinoids are important phytonutrients (think plant nutrients that fight cancer or abnormal cell division) found in mushrooms. The mushrooms highest in cancer fighting compounds are Turkey Tail, Chaga, Reishi, Cordycep, Maitake, Phenillus & Shiitake.

Sourcing a quality mushroom extract is best. Often a powdered blend is most economical and can be added to your dogs' food. Just make sure they use the whole mushroom including the fruited body, and that is it 3rd party tested. Turkey Tail mushrooms have the highest amount of beta-glucans compared to any other mushroom, however, the Magic 7 work synergistically to support your dogs' overall immune system.

3) Full Spectrum Cancer Fighting CBD Formula- Cancer-fighting terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabanoids are plentiful in high quality extracted hemp plants. By promoting apoptosis, terpenes can help regulate the cell cycle and prevent the uncontrolled proliferation of cancer cells. Additionally, terpenes have been found to inhibit angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels that tumors rely on for nutrients and oxygen.

Full Spectrum (alcohol) extracted organic hemp that is 3rd party tested for potency, and to make sure there are no pesticides, heavy metals, or mycotoxins in the oil. When the term full spectrum is used, it means the formulator is using the whole plant. The whole plant is where you are going to get an abundance of phytonutrients

MOST COMMON TYPES OF CANCER IN DOGS
Lymphoma (Lymphomascarcoma)- In dogs, this form of cancer most commonly causes enlargement of multiple lymph nodes. Swollen glands (lymph nodes) that can be seen or felt under the neck, in front of the shoulders, or behind the knee.
Bone Tumors (Osteosarcoma)- Affects one of the limbs and usually affects larger breed dogs. It originates in the skeletal system. While Osteosarcoma occurs in many areas, it most commonly affects the bones bordering the shoulder, wrist and knee. A major symptom is lameness in the affected leg, or a swelling over the area that seems painful at the site.
Skin Tumors (Mast Cell Tumors)- They usually arise on or just below the skin in dogs. Mast cells are immune cells that play a role in allergic responses.
Sarcomas (Soft Tissue Tumors)- They are typically slow growing masses found anywhere in a dog's body. This cancer arises from the connective, nervous, or muscle tissue, so it can appear almost anywhere in the body.
Oral Tumors (Melanoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Fibrosarcoma)- Oral tumors may be benign however the malignant tumors tend to spread to other parts of the body. Melanoma tumors originating in the pigment-producing cells, known as melanocytes, are inside the mouth.
Hemangiosarcoma- This form of dog cancer is a tumor of cells that line blood vessels, called endothelial cells. It develops slowly and is largely undetected until more advanced stages. Typically found in spleen, heart or liver.
